MAINTENANCE WORK

FORTNIGHT’S SCHEDULE ANNUAL CLEAN-UP WEEK The principal road works in the town, agreed to by the Gisborne Borough Council last night on the recommendation of the works committee, were the maintenance of metal, gravel and bitumen surfaced roads and the continuation of No. 13 scheme works. The annual clean-up week was approved for the period commencing next Monday. A request from a property owner to drain stormwater from his property, the owner to supply the pipes and the council to bear the cost of installation, was declined. Confirmation was given to a recommendation from the finance committee that the offer of Mr. Bruetsch to surrender his borough leasehold be declined.
