SERVICE RESTORED

AUCKLAND-ROTORUA After a little over a week of a restricted service between Auckland and Rotorua, the old time-table for the service cars is to bo reverted to, according to advice received by the Rotorua office of the New Zealand Railway road services. The service was originally curtailed by the No. 1 Transport Licensing Authority, Mr. E. J. Phelan, to conserve petrol, but it is understood that satisfactory results in this direction have been achieved by reorganising the service between Auckland and Hamilton. The time-table revision is believed to have been made following urgent representations regarding hardship imposed by the restrictions.
