OBITUARY
MRS. f. T. KERRIDGE LINK WITH EARLY DAYS The death on Saturday night ot Mrs. Ellen Maud Kerridge at her residence in Kaiti Esplanade severed yet another link with the early days ot New Zealand. She had been ailing for some time. Mrs. Kerridge was the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Bel!, and was a grandaughter of At. and Mme. Fle'uri't, who were the first French settlers to arrive at Akaroa oir the sailing ship Comte de Paris, commanded by Captain Lavaucl. She resided in Christchurch until If) 19 and since then had lived in the Gisborne district. Tier husband. Mr. F. T. Kerridge. died in 1935. The sympathy of many friends will be extended to her two sons, Mr. R. ■T. Kerridge. Auckland, and Mr. F. T. Kerridge. Tauranga. She is also survived by two sisters. Mrs. G. 'Hillyard and Mrs. A. Faithfull, both ot Gisborne, and two brothers, Mr. R M. Bell. Opotiki. and Mr. P. G. Bell, Gisborne. A. service wiil be held at the deceased’s late residence, Kaiti esplanade, at 11 a.m. to-morrow, after which the funeral will leave for the Taruheru cemetery.
