DENSE WAIKATO FOG

Immediately after sunset on Wednesday a fog of unusual density descended upon the Waikato, being especially thick between Hamilton and Huntly. Visibility dropped to very short distances, and motor cars had to proceed slowly in low gear. An Automobile Association official said that the fog was the heaviest within his memory for the last 11! years. Visibility was slightly improved when the moon rose, but the fog still remained dense.
