SUPPORT FOR ALLIES

ARABS AND MOSLEMS ANTAGONISM TO ITALY (British Official Wireless.) Reed. 11 n.m. RUGBY. June 13. An agency message from Beirut strikingly illustrates the feeling of the Arab world towards the latest war developments. The Grand Mufti, whose reputation for piety and learning is great, has declared: “A strong feeling of resentment prevails in Moslem and Arab circles at Italy's entry in the war on the side of Germany. God will see that, the cause of justice is victorious over barbaric aggression ” That strong sentiment against Italy is not confined to religious circles i? evidenced by a pamphlet denouncing Italian aggression issued by the Moslem National Youth Organisation and by a statement of the head of the Syrian Government that Arabs and Moslems are more on the side of the Allies than ever as they realise "the dreadful consequences they will be exposed to if the Allies fail to win.”
