PAYMENTS APPRECIATED CANBERRA, June 6. offers to pay 1940-4-1 taxes in advance will be gladly accepted by the Commonwealth, said the Treasurer, Mr. P. C. Spender. , ,“I have arranged with the DeputyFederal Taxation Commissioners in the States to give receipts for any money paid in for this purpose,” Mr. Spender said. “When the taxation assessment is issued and due the money will be used ia payment of the taxation assessment.” Mr. Spender added that this move followed offers to pay in advance from persons who wished the payments to be treated as interest-free mans from the time of payment until their assessments fell due.
