AIDING WAR EFFORT OUTPUT OF SUPPLIES (Reed. June 1, 9 a.m.) CAPETOWN, May 31. A message frbm Salisbury states that the Prime Minister of Southern Rhodesia, Mr. G. M. Huggins, in the Assembly to-day announced the formation of an inner Cabinet of three members to intensify the war effort. He foreshadowed more drastic taxation A Johannesburg message states that workers in the iron and steel manufacturing and engineering industries of the Transvaal have agreed to the curtailment of leave privileges with a view to speeding up munitions and other war supplies. Some firms already are working two and three shift systems.
