Politics or Unity?
Sir,—l attended the meeting at the Opera House on Wednesday night as I was interested in the two issues raised because I think they are of great importance. I could not fail to note the poor tactics adopted by those speakers who stated themselves to be supporters of the Labour Party. The meeting was stated to be nonpolitical and the three speakers who officially supported the resolutions carefully kept'off all political subjects and said nothing at all of a partisan nature. It sCemed to me they were very careful to do this. However the opposing Labour speakers who came from the body of the Opera House and addressed the meeting soon reduced the whole affair to a political meeting and appeared to raise' every party question that was possible. If this 'is the Labour attitude where can the country ever get any unity in a time like this? UNITY.
