Te Arai Valley W.D.F.U.

There was a good attendance of members at the monthly meeting of the Te Arai Valley branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union, held this week at the home of Mrs. J. Jobson. Manutuke. The chair was taken by the president. Mrs. R. S. r. Sherratt One new member was elected. A welcome was extended to Miss Carswell, of Scotland, who later gave a most interesting talk on a tour of Canada and the United States A warm vote of thanks was passed to the speaker The president, Mrs. J. Jobson, and Mrs. T. A. Field were appointed delegates to the W.D.F.U. provincial executive.

The monthly competition,, “the best flower in my garden,” was judged by Mrs. C. Hamilton and Miss Carswell, with the following results: Mrs. T. A. Field, 1; Mrs. Sherratt, 2; Mrs. Honan, 3. Members were reminded that the next meeting would take place on June 25.
