AIRMEN MISSING
THREE N.Z. PILOTS OPERATIONS WITH R.A.F. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Air Ministry advises that Pilot-Officer Ernest Elliot Howarth is reported missing and is believed to have been skilled in air operations on May 27. He is a son of Mr. W. Howarth, of Dunedin. Pilot-Officer Gerald Montague Bailey is reported missing in air ooerations on May 23. He is a son of Mrs. N. F. Bailey, of Gordonton, Anrlrlrmrl The Ttev. A. S. Moffatt, of Hinds, has received cable advice that his eldest son Sergeant-Pilot William Michael Florance Moffatt, is missing. Sergeant-Pilot Moffatt joined the Royal Air Force in 1932, passing out of the training school at Cranwell in 1935. Two months ago he was posted for coastal defence at Wick, Caithness. He was married last July.
