FOOD FOR BRITAIN

ENCOURAGING POSITION EMERGENCY SUPPLIES (British Official Wireless.) Reed. 9 a.m. RUGBY, May 28. The Parliamentary Secretary of the Food Ministry, Mr. R. J. Boothby, speaking in London, said that food was not a spectacular weapon, but security depended on giving an adequate supply of good and nutritious food to the people of Britain. The Ministry of Food was making every effort for adequate arrangements for any emergency. Mr. Boothby added: “Provided it is done, I do not think anything or anyone in the world can beat us. It is a fundamental condition to our safety and our security and, what is more than any Food Minister could say in 1917 when we were faced with a submarine menace, the food situation now is encouraging.’’
