DISTRICT RECRUITS MEDICAL BOARD LIST LAST WEEK’S EXAMINEES 45 MORE MEN OFFERING A total of 45 men who have enlisted for service overseas presented themselves for medical examination in Gisborne during the past week, and a substantial proportion succeeded in meeting the rigorous standard of the examination. The number included five Maoris anxious to join the reinforcement for the special Maori Battalion. The men boarded during the past few days are all drawn from the immediate neighbourhood of Gisborne or from the high-country areas behind the town. Wairoa and East Coast enlistments are separately indexed, for medical examination in their own areas. The list which follows comprises men who underwent examination in Gisborne, and includes both those who passed the examination and those who were deferred for the time being:— NEW ZEALAND SPECIAL FORCE Baker, A.
