RED CROSS APPfeAL SHOP DAY YIELDS £llß SICK AND WOUNDED FUND The joint district council of the Order of St. John and the New Zealand Red Cross Society to-day received from its sub-committee in Ruaforia a list of donations and other contributions to the sick and wounded fund totalling £lßl 2s 5d., The . Ruatorin organisation has been particularly active, and has received excellent support from European and Maori residents alike. Some of . the personal donations have, been small, but these have helped substantially to swell the list, which represents the first instalment of the sub-committee’s effort. A shop day held in the township yielded £llß. of which £2O was credited to the Maori list in acknowledgment of sterling help given in stocking the shop and in disposing of the goods. Sums of 5s and more are acknowledged as under:—

Intending donors to the sick and wounded fund are reminded that contributions .may be left at the office of J. J. Macdonald and Son, Limited, 81 Lowe street, where acknowledgment will be made on the official receipt forms of the joint council.
