Social Security?
Sir, —I must be dense or could you enlighten me as to the meaning of this social security? My daughter had the audacity to leave her position and applied for some relief until such time as she got another position but was politely told that having left her position she automatically became voluntarily unemployed. Therefore, according to the heads or one of them in the Gisborne office there is nothing for her. Yet I can quote cases where other children have left their positions and have drawn from the- security fund.
Am I expected to pay my wife’s levy, my daughter’s and my own as well? If so, what am I paying for and what do any of us get out of this beautiful bill that the Labour Government brought into force? Possibly it was to make quite a number of jobs for I believe there are somewhere about 60 employed in our local branch offices. ONCE A LABOURITE.
