WIN-WAR COLUMN

APPEAL BY MR. BEVIN SERVICE OF ALLIES (Reed. May 27. 9 a.m.) LONDON, May 25. The Minister of Labour and National Service, Mr. Ernest Bevin, broadcasting, said: “I want another column in the British national service, a column whose members are resolved to win the war quickly." He proposed to establish communal canteens in order to facilitate the proper feeding of the great numbers of men and women, particularly Women, who were being brought into industry. He added: “I will pool many munition factories so that the workers can be switched from one factory to another if required.”
