WOMEN’S HOCKEY
CHAMPIONS WIN AGAIN Hinenui, last year’s women’s champion team, on Saturday played with more thrust and with better recovery than Kia Toa A, and won by two goals to one. Kia Toa did not combine well in the first half, and the interval arrived with Hinenui leading by two goals to nil, but the town team improved afterwards, the game becoming very spirited towards the close. Misses Kara and Mary Brown scored for Hinenui, and Mrs. Le Bas for Kia Toa. Y.M.P. Surprises Awapuni Y.M.P. sprang a surprise on Awapuni, who were defeated by three goals to two. After their recent good performances, Awapuni was regarded as one of the strongest teams in the section, and Y.M.P.’s win must class that team as a formidable one. Mrs. Nicol scored two goals and Miss Moeau one for Y.M.P., while Mrs. Wilson netted both goals for Awapuni. Mahaki Beat Kia Toa B In the game between Mahaki and Kia Toa B, won by the former by five goals to nil, Miss K. Taihuka scored four goals and Miss K, Taihuka one, ' . _
