STATE LEADERS ATTEND MESSAGE TO THE KING (Per Proas Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Three thousand people crowded the Town Hall yesterday afternoon for the citizens’ intercessory service. The doors had to be closed before the service commenced. Mr. E. Gordon Anderson presided. The Prime Minister, the Hon. P. Fraser, the Leader of the Opposition, the Hon. Adam Hamilton, and the Mayor, Mr. T. C. A. Hislop, took part. Addresses were delivered by the Rev. Dr. J. Gibson Inkster and the Rev. D. B. Forde Carlisle. The civic authorities and the heads of the fighting services attended. A message was sent to the King praying that the blessings of Almighty C-od may be with Their, Majesties and all fighting for the cause of freedom, justice and peace.
