CHAIRMAN RE-ELECTED
WAIROA COUNTY COUNCIL
COMMITTEES APPOINTED (Special to the Herald.) WAIROA, this day. For the third year in succession, Mr. A. T. Carroll was re-elected chairs man of the Wairoa Cbunty Council at the annual meeting of the council yesterday. In proposing that' Mr. Carroll be reelected chairman, Mr. W. Tait stated that the chairman had given a great deal of his time to the ratepayers during the past year. The opinion that the ratepayers were very fortunate in having a chairman such as Mr. Carroll was expressed by Mr. S. A. Dickie when seconding the proposal. He. added that Mr. Carroll had been of great assistance to the ratepayers, and when Government support or assistance was required the council could not have a better man to represent it. In thanking the council for its renewed confidence in him as chairman. Mr. Carroll staled that it had been a pleasure to have the co-operation ,of the memberSi,of the council. With the full co-operation of the councillors he had no fear in tackling .any problems concerning the council. The following committees were elected:—-General purposes: The chairman and Messrs H. Bayly, S. A. Dickie and J. O’Grady. Rating: The chairman and Messrs. W. Tait, J. O’Grady and D. H. Robertson. Rural housing: The chairman and Messrs. H. Bayly and J. O’Grady, the county clerk, Mr. B. G. Signall, and the engineer, Mr. R. W. Hawthorne.
