ENGLISH WOOLLENS
Reports received by importers from woollen manufacturers in England are to the effect that the industry lias been hit hard by the German invasion of Norway and Denmark. Th<j Scandinavian countries were among the industry’s best customers, and not only is there now a loss of trade, but individual manufacturers state they have suffered heavy financial reverses through the impossibility of collecting debts that were owing. An improvement in the supply position to New Zealand is anticipated now that there is not the former Scandinavian outlet.
