LABOUR CO-OPERATION

ARMAMENTS PRODUCTION DISCUSSION IN BRITAIN (British Oilicin] Wireless.) Reed. 1. p.m. RUGBY, Mar. 1. Labour problems in connection-with armaments production were further discussed at two meetings to-day between the Minister of Labour, Mr. Ernest Brown, and the different engineering unions concerned. Mr. Brown met the executive committee of the Amalgamated Engineering Union in the morning and representatives of the Confederation of Engineering and Shipbuilding Unions in the afternoon. In 'each case the union delegates reported to the Minister the results of consideration given by their Organisations to proposals made at previous meetings with him. The discussions wore prolonged and it is understood that considerable progress was made towards finding solutions to problems arising in these industries —a task in which the unions’ are co-operating without reserve with the Minister.
