STILL FLYING

FINNISH ENSIGN WIIPURI CASTLE HAIL OF SHELLS TEN ROUNDS A MINUTE SWEDISH VOLUNTEERS FRONT LINE RELIEF (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. March 2, 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, March 1. A report from Helsinki states thal the Finnish flag is still flying over Wiipuri Castle. Shells to-day were falling on the city at the rate of 10 rounds a minute. The first detachment of the Swedish volunteers have taken up front line positions, relieving some of the tired Finnish troops. A Stockholm message states that an aeroplane, believed to be Russian, bombed two villages on the island of Vorms, Estonia, which is inhabited mainly-by Swedes. A night communique issued in Moscow claims that the Russians occupied several stations on the Wiipuri-Vaika-jarvi railway. It adds that at one point the troops are only a mile from Wiipuri. A Moscow broadcast to-day stated: “We call on every man able to bear arms. We call on the Caucasus, Turkestan and the Cossack legion. It is your help we rely on. We beat the White Armies 20 years ago. We are sure you will be loyal again.
