875L8. IN 365 DAYS 'WAIKATO PERFORMANCE A New Zealand record for production by an Ayrshire cow is claimed to have been put up by Ayrshire Rosie, owned by Mr. W. Oates, of Hinuera, Matamata. The cow has completed a test for the 1938-39 season, which shows her production for the 3G5-day period to be 14,9591 bof milk at a 5.84 test, making 8751 b of butterfat. In 410 days, up to the time of calving, Ayrshire Rosie produced 9571 bof butterfat. The Ayrshire world record is held by Grange Rosebud 11., in America, with 2(J.7G(jlb of milk, yielding 130Glb of butterfat on certificate of record test. The New Zealand record,' under c.o.r. test, is held by Floss of Braeside, owned by Mr. W. Moore, of Greytown, with 8321 bof butterfat. Ayrshire Rosie is nine years old. and'her average production over the past six seasons is 88881 bof milk, at a 4.82 test, with an average butter fat production of 42fi!b. Her present record is for twice-,'-day. milking under group test.
