SUPER GRADE PETROL
RESTRICTION OPPOSED NORTH ISLAND MOTORISTS (P«r Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The restriction of petrol imports to a certain standard grade, was opposed by the North Island Motor Union conference yesterday. It was stated that representations had been made to have this done on the ground that a restriction on imported super grades would permit of some saving in dollar exchange. The conference expressed concern on the grounds that the saving would be absolutely negligible and the inconvenience and the reduced mileage of motorists would 'be considerable. It was stated that a similar suggestion was made in Australia and had met with the same objections.
