ASCOT BLOOM'S RUN A SPIRITED FINISH CORATO NOT ACCEPTOR TE AROHA MEETING By ••Trenton" Ascot Bloom came from a long way back to get third money in the Electric Handicap at Tc Aroha, on Monday. He is a two-year-old gelding by Foxbridge from that useful, mare of a few seasons ago, Curraghmore, and should be worth keeping in mind for a race before long. As usual, he had a lot of ground to make up when the straight was reached. Rider Indisposed Owing to a slight indisposition, the jockey C. G. Goulsbro was unable to fulfil engagements on the second day of the Te Aroha Jockey Club’s Jubilee meeting on Monday. One of his mounts was to have been Joan Peel, winner of the Elstow Handicap, upon whom the successful apprentice W. J. Mudford was substituted. Mudford also won the Electric Handicap on Mysito. Sky Limit Sky Limit ran poor races at vVoodville. He has become touched in the wind. May Not Go South Old Bill was unable to make much impression in the sprint race he had at Woodville. The going was against him and he also drew the outer, but the race would not do him any harm Old Bill will be entered at Wellington, and he is also in the Great Easter and Great Autumn Handicaps. It is doubtful if he will go south at Eastertime. Local Horses Entered Raana and Black Thread have been nominated for the Ohinemuri Cup and St. Patrick’s Handicap, respectively, at Paeroa. The former has also been nominated for the Shaw Handicap, and another local horse, Dutch Ace, has been entered for the Hikutaia Hack Cup.
