HIDES MARKET
CONTROL BY TRADE A CENTRAL COMMITTEE It is i eported by Auckland exporters that satisfactory arrangements have been completed whereby the trade will retain control of the hides market under a central committee, upon which the Government will be represented. State commandeer is abandoned. It is expected that regulations governing procedure will be issued. Tannery requirements are being met at present, and export under license is proceeding where the tanning industry, through its association, supplies "a certificate of approval.
