EXHIBITION PARTY
GISBORNE CHILDREN ARRIVAL IN WELLINGTON (Special to the Herald.) WELLINGTON, this day. The party of school children from Gisborne and district who left early yesterday morning for a visit to the Centennial Exhibition arrived safely last evening. Leaving Gisborne by service car at 3 a.m. yesterday, the party of 70 joined a special railcar at Wairoa, and connected with the express train at Napier, travelling via Palmerston North. The children enjoyed their trip, and the teachers speak highly of the behnviour of those under their control. They were all well, and no mishaps were experienced en route. All displayed great enthusiasm, and are keen to see everything. The schools represented, together with the names of the teachers in charge, are: Kaiti, Miss R. Wauchop and Mr. P. H. Dow; Mangapapa, Miss C. Baty and Mr. R. McMurray; Awapuni, Miss N. Paltridge; Ormond, Mr. E. G. Caigou; Muriwai, Mr. C. J. Cox. Arrangements have been made for the party to leave Wellington on their return journey at 8 a.m. on Friday, travelling via the Wairarapa.
