RIFLE TRAINING

ORGANISED IN CANADA OTTAWA, Dec. 1. Designed to assist in small arms training of troops of the Canadian Active Service Force, cadets in schools and universities and members of civilian rifle clubs, an enlarged programme of competitive events will be carried out this winter by the Dominion of Canada Rifle Association. Colonel R. J. Birtwhistle, secretary of the association, said that the organisation, with the approval of the National Defence Department, would conduct decentralised competitions in small arms training as an integral part of the activities of the Canadian Active Service Force, and among individuals who have not yet been called up for service.
