AIDING RECRUITING

MEETING IN HAWERA EXPLANATIONS SOUGHT (For Press Association.) HAWERA. this day. A public meeting called by the Mayor, at the request of the Government, to stimulate recruiting, resolved that the Minister of Defence be requested to define reserved occupations; also that men classified as unfit should replace fit men in essential occupations who volunteer for service; and that a local board similar to the Council of Primary Production be set up in each centre to assist recruiting.
