General Impresses
“I visited Wellington recently to preside over a meeting of the Select Parliamentary Committee on Defence," stated the Hon. W. E. Barnard, M.P., in Napier yesterday'. ‘‘We had the opportunity of meeting MajorGeneral B. C. Freyberg and of hearing a statement from him. The general was frank and direct in what he said, and impressed us very favourably. He was most socilitous for the 'health and welfare of our boys under his command, and we felt that he was not only a first-rate soldier but would : also prove a sympathetic leader of the | troops.”
