RUMOURS DENIED
POST IN AUSTRALIA LORD WILLINGDON MAIL FOR DOMINION (llccd. Jan. 4, 2.50 p.m.) LONDON, Jan. 3. The Marquis of Willingdon to-day denied rumours that he was succeeding Lord Gowrie as the GovernorGeneral of Australia, "I am too old to take up a job of that nature, but I have arranged to make a short stay .in Australia when I go to New Zealand.” he said. Lord WU'ingiia.n will carry a bundle of letters 18in high as a result of ins offer to act as “postman” to the New Zealand apti-tank battery.
