GRAMOPHONE SECRET

HITLER'S SPEECH RECORD LONDON, Oct. 3. The War Office, witli the lessons of spies in the last war behind them, have overhauled their plans to stop information from Britain reaching the enemy. Recently they examined a gramophone record. It appeared to be a recording of a speech by Herr Hitler. It was so made that, though it; started with his speech, it ended quite differently, with concealed "information” in it. Messages, too, have been smuggled out in clothes—and in newspaperpackets, but it will be more difficult for dodges like this to succeed.
