TOURNAMENT FUND

BASKETBALL PLANS CAMPAIGN IN SUMMER Planning to raise during the summer months sufficient money to send a team to the New Zealand tournament in Wellington during March, the Poverty Bay Basketball Association has formed a sub-committee, comprising mainly the girls of the team, with Miss 11. McKnight as secretary.

Comment was made at this week’s meeting of the most successful games evening held on September 20. After lengthy discussion, it was decided to lease the courts during the summer to the Chrisp Tennis Club.

Before the commencement of the meeting, sympathetic reference was made to the death of Mr. J. Nelson.

At the close, the president, Miss C. Mead, was presented by the secretary, Miss N. Henderson, with the president’s gold badge as a token of her work during the past two seasons. This was the final meeting of the association for the season, and those present were:—Miss Mead, chairman, Mcsdarnes Muir head and Norberg, Misses I. Somervell, M. Bloxham, H. McKnight, J. Martin, V. Masoman, C. Bat.v, and the secretary, Miss N. Henderson.
