Fourth Match At Auckland
Although the first inter-island Rugby match was played at Wellington in 1897, last Saturday was only the fourth occasion the fixture has been staged in Auckland. And it was North’s first success in Auckland.

The article adds: “Although the toui’ was not a howling success from the Australian point ■of view, the spirit of it set a nice example to the League code. No squabbles about referees, no players sent off, no manager feuding with pressmen and saying all the wrong things.
