U.S. Ambassador Recalled
Though no official reason is given for the recall to Washington of the United States Ambassador to Lon- r don (Mr Lewis Dougles), it is believed to be connected with the'coming visit to the United States., of the British Foreign Secretary (Mr Ernest Bevin) and the French Foreign Minister (Mr Schuman). Diplomatic circles here believe that the United States Secretary of State (Mr .Dean Acheson) wants Mr Douglas’s advice during his discussions with Mr Bevin and Mr Schuman.—London, August 30. ' J
