SWEDEN GIVES SUPPORT TO UNO DECISION

STOCKHOLM, July 3 (Rec. 1 p.m.). —Sweden tonight officially announced its support of the Security Council in its decision to help South Korea. In a cable assuring the United Nations of its support, Sweden declared it was “important” that the North Korean aggression ? “should not be crowned with success.” Sweden Could not send armed forces but would consider other forms of aid for South Korea.

A New York message says that Nationalist China today formally offered the United Nations 33,000 troops for use in the Korean fighting. A letter to the Secretary-General, Mr Trygve Lie, at Lake Success said the troops would have the best equipment available. They could embark in a few days. The Nationalists also offered 20 transport planes. No Mobilisation In Washington, the Secretary of Defence, Mr Louis Johnston said there was no intention at the moment to mobilise reserves in the United States. He made the statement after he and other top defence officials had conferred with President Truman on dispatches from the Korean front. Mr Johnston, when asked if there was any prospect of partial mobilisation, replied: “Not at the present time.” The United Press Honolulu correspondent reports that the Commander-in-Chief, United States Pacific Fleet, Admiral Arthur Radford, said the task force “Yoke” would move to Hawaii within 15 days under the command of Rear-Admiral Walter Boone. Pakistan’s Acceptance Liaquat Ali Khan, Pakistan Prime Minister said in London today that Pakistan had informed the Security Council that it regarded the action of the North Korean Government as a clear case of aggression and had accepted the Security Council’s resolution on the Korean situation. ■ He added that Pakistan would give any help within its means. “We shall have tc find out what sprt of help is required,” he said.
