OBITUARY

Mr S. Stansfield The death occurred at Greymouth this morning of Mr Squire Stansfield, of Threadneedle street. He had been in failing health for some time, but had been admitted to hospital only last night. Born in Lancashire, England, 74 years ago, Mr Stansfield came to New Zealand in 1910. He was employed with the Railways Department as a bridge carpenter on the West Coast for about 30 years and later was employed by the. Greymouth Evening Star for seven years. He retired about two years ago.

Mr Stansfield was predeceased by his wife and has no relatives in New Zealand. Two sisters survive him in Bolton, Lancashire. The funeral will take place on Thursday afternoon.
