CONSECRATION OF NEW CATHOLIC BISHOP

CHRISTCHURCH, This Day (P.A.).—The consecration of the Roman Catholic Bishopelect of Christchurch, the Rev. Father E. M. Joyce, will take place in the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Barbadoes street, on Sunday, July 16. The consecrating prelate will be the Coadjutor-Archbishop of Wellington, Archbishop McKeefry, and he will be assisted by two co-consecrators, Bishop Liston, of Auckland, and Bishop Kavanagh, of Dunedin. . , , ~ A civic welcome will be extended to the new Bishop by the Mayor of Christchurch (Sir Ernest Andrews) at a public reception which will be held on July 17.
