R.S.A. FAVOURS EXTENDED HOURS FOR CLUB CHARTERS
WELLINGTON, This Day (P.A.).—The New Zealand Returned Services’ Association is to support any move for an extension of evening hours of club charters, according to a decision reached at the annual conference today. The original recommendation suggested that the parent body should support any move affecting R.S.A. chartered clubs but it was felt by the delegates that this would limit the chances of the proposal meeting with sueCOSS. The conference decided to continue the Poppy Day appeal and to administer the proceeds on lines of previous years. In order to give children an appreciation of Empire and the significance of Anzac Day, the conference decided that members of local branches of the association would be available to New Zealand schools as speakers for Anzac Day or immediately before that day.
