IRAQ REJECTS ALLIED ARMS DECLARATION
CAIRO, June 12 (Rec. 10 a-m 1 .).— The Iraqi Government has decided to reject the Big Three Western Powers’ declaration on arms for the Middle East. The Iraqi Prime Minister, Kewfik el Sueweidi, said this in Alexandria today. , , , He added that his Government had rejected the declaration because it is “illegal, provides for action outside the United Nations and depends on the use of force.” . The joint declaration by Britain, France and the United States on arms shipments to the Middle East freed the sale of arms, provided the countries concerned guaranteed that the weapons would not be used for aggression.
