ITALIANS ANNOYED AT FIELD-MARSHAL ALEXANDER’S REPORT

LONDON, June 12 (Rec. 11.15 am.).—The United Press Rome correspondent reports that angry protests at Field-Marshal Viscount Alexander’s report on the Italian campaign appear in several Rome newspapers. T . The Left-wing newspaper, He Paese, demanded that the Government should protest against the report. “It offends all the nation, which can only reject it with disdain and a protest,” it said. The Right-wing paper, Il Tempo, says the report “would not merit attention if it did not contain some considerations which once again reveal the British state of mind towards us.” The report stated that Italy capitulated in 1943 because she had decided “as in the past to spring to the aid of the victor.”
