MAN ADMITTED TO PROBATION FOR YEAR

At present under a suspended sentence for false pretences—the sentence will not be completed for five months—William Gourlay Ricalton, married, a bushman, of Nelson Creek, pleaded guilty in the Magistrate’s Court, this morning when he appeared on remand of charges of committing mischief by wilfully damaging a 701 b bag of sugar valued at £1 8s 6d, and with the theft of various articles valued at £1 8s lOd from a house at Atarau.

Ricalton,’ who, appeared before Messrs W. E. Bring and E. P. Stratford, J.P’s, was admitted to probation for 12 months, special conditions being that he take out a prohibition order, and that he take such employment as the probationary officer approves.
