Oyster Season Opens

INVERCARGILL, This Day (P.A.). ■ —The oyster season opened here yesterday. The vessel Toiler won the “oyster derby” back to Bluff from the dredging grounds for the second year in succession. Because of a high westerly wind and heavy seas, the catch was not as large as usual on the first day’s operation, but oystermen report that the quality and quantity of the oysters are excellent and prospects for the season are good.
