INDIA AND RED CHINA: QUESTION OF RECOGNITION

NEW DELHI, November 28 (Rec. 11 a.m.). —The Indian Prime Minister, Pandit Nehru, said in Parliament today that so far as he knew the question of the recognition of the Chinese Communist Government was not on the agenda for* the forthcoming conference of the Commonwealth Foreign Ministers in Ceylon. Mr Nehru said he saw no possibility of a world military conflict, but only of local conflicts. He had found the European situation quieter than in the past year or two, and in America he had seen a great desire for peace'. Mr D. V. Kaukar, Deputy Minister of External Affairs, told Parliament that the Government of India hoped to reach a decision on the recognition of Communist China.“very soon.”
