World Group Of Moslems

Pakistan’s Minister of Finance, Mr Ghulam Mohammed, today urged Moslems to form a world group, independent of the Communist bloc and the Western democracies. “We do not want to be dragged into the whirlpool of power politics,” he said. We desire to be let alone to shape our own destinies. There is much in the Islamic ideology in common with that oi the Western democracies; but Moslems can also see valuable aspects of the Communist experiment. We. cannot imitate the Western democracies, system wholeheartedly, notwithstanding cur appreciation of many of its values. Communism has brought dignity, education, and medical help, to the poorest citizen; but, in my opinion, m the Communist experiment liberty hasbeen unduly swallowed by order,’ — Karachi,. November 25.
