State-owned Airline Loses £10,000 In Year

CANBERRA, October 4.—The Go-vernment-owned Airlines lost about £lOO,OOO in. the year ended on June 30. This is the third consecutive deficit since the Government established the airline m 1946. Previous losses were £505,92/ for 1946-47 and £296,801 for 1947-48. The Government considers last year’s result as satisfactory because of the continued reduction of losses. Ministers expect Trans-Australia Airlines to show its first profit next year. .
