HIRE OF AIRCRAFT

AUCKLAND, This Day (P.A.). — The first of the four Tasman-class flying-boafs now being replaced with Solents by Tasman Airways may soon be leaving for England for return to their owners, the British Ministry of Civil Aviation. , Tasman Airways hired the four flying-boats in 1946 and in 1947 because suitable British aircraft were not available for purchase. The hire period was extended until the company could buy its own aircraft. Tasman Airways has written to the British Ministry for information as to what will' be done with the aircraft, but a reply has not yet been received.

If the Ministry decides to ferry them back to England it will not be Tasman Airways’ responsibility to provide crews, ;
