AUSTRALIA AIMS TO HAVE SAFER FLYING
SYDNEY, This Day (Rec. 1.10 p >m ,). —The Australian Government is spending £6,500,000 bn new electrical equipment which, according to Mr Drakeford, Minister of Air, will make commercial' flying in Australia the safest in the world. He added that the Department of Civil Aviation hoped to improve .134 airports in all States at a cost of nearly £14,000,000 during the ngxt three years. ’ ■ The new electrical equipment included 89 distance measuring stations, improved radio communication systems, electric • generating plants, recording equipment, time clocks and other aids and instrument landing systems. -
