INCREASE SHOWN ON MAIN BULLER ELECTORAL ROLL
The m'ain Buller roll for the general election next month contains 1309 more names than the main roll for the 1946 election. The total number of electors on the roll is 14,400 compared with 13,091 in 1946. Including the 1396 names on the supplementary roll, however, the total number of electors in 1946 was 14,488, or 88 more than the total on the present main roll. As a supplementary roll was provided for the referenda in March of this year, the 1949 supplementary roll is likely to contain considerably fewer names than in 1946 so that the over-all increase in electors may not be substantial. . The main Buller roll contains 250 more names than the Westland roll of. 14,150, which, due to the referenda, also shows a large increase on the 1946 main roll, which contained only 12,775 names or 1375 fewer.
