Investiture Held Today

WELLINGTON, This Day (P.A.).—Memories of the war years were recalled at Government House today, by the uniforms of three services when the Governor-Genral, Sir Bernard Freyberg, invested nearly 100 recipients of honours with insignia and decorations. Sir Joseph Heenan, former Under-Secretary of Internal Affairs, was the only knight to receive the accolade. The ceremony was observed by the Prime Minister, Mr Fraser, and the Minister of Defence, Mr Jones. There will be another investiture tomorrow.
