AUCKLAND, October 4 . (P.A.) .— The detectives who are investigating the death by poisoning of an English immigrant, Gordon James Pepper, aged 23, at a boardinghouse at Blockhouse Bay, had no new developments to report today. There does not appear to be any motive for. a person’s wanting to harm Mr Pepper. Mr Pepper was buried in the returned servicemen’s plot at the Waikumete cemetery this afternoon. There were many- wreaths on the coffin and “Last Post” was sounded. at the graveside By a bugler. The chief mourners were Mr Pepper’s fiancee (Miss Edna Coward) and her family.
